Suspects wanted in violent fire extinguisher attack during robbery at Short Hills mall

Millburn police are searching for several violent suspects who brazenly robbed a store at the Short Hills Mall Monday afternoon.

Millburn Captain Mark Azzopardi reported that just before 2:15 p.m., Millburn police responded to a robbery in progress at the Chanel boutique at the Short Hills Mall.

According to Captain Azzopardi, five individuals entered the store wearing surgical masks and gloves.

During the robbery, one suspect violently pulled a fire extinguisher at the store’s security guard while the other four suspects ransacked the store and stole merchandise.

Video footage observed by RLS Media showed several frantic store employees guarding merchandise and protecting customers by locking their doors.

All suspects fled the scene in a waiting vehicle. Fortunately, the security guard was not seriously injured.

The investigation continues and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
