OPP – Terrace Bay individual charged with possession of child pornography – Wawa-news.comThe Nipigon and Schreiber detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), with assistance from the Nipigon and Thunder Bay OPP Crime Unit, the Child Sexual Exploitation Unit Ontario Provincial Police and the Digital Forensics Unit have arrested and charged an individual following a child pornography investigation.

On June 2, 2024, a search warrant was executed at a residence in Terrace Bay. The investigation led to the arrest of an individual and the seizure of electronic devices.

As a result, a Terrace Bay resident was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography under the Criminal Code – three counts.

The accused is in custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Schreiber at a later date.

The OPP will continue to aggressively identify and pursue individuals who use technology to exploit children. Parents are reminded to take a proactive approach to protecting their children from online sexual exploitation by discussing internet safety with them.
