Teen accused of stealing on CTA Blue Line and beaten

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWS RADIO) – A 15-year-old boy has been charged with theft and battery last weekend on a CTA train.

This happened on Saturday on a Blue Line train around 1:30 p.m.

It was at or near the Racine stop when the five men, according to police, approached another passenger. At least one brandished a gun and demanded property.

Police said he then beat and kicked the victim and stole his shoes.

It is not known what these shoes were.

Images of the five people taken by a CTA surveillance camera are quite clear, showing their faces.

The 15-year-old boy was charged with armed robbery as well as aggravated battery.

Police continue to search for the four other suspects believed to be involved.
