LANDIKOTAL: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) and welfare organization Haq Ki Awaz, in collaboration with the district police, have launched a campaign to rehabilitate drug addicts in Khyber.

An awareness campaign was launched to raise awareness among the population about the negative impacts of drug use. Two drug addicts, Zahoor, a resident of Bara, and Shahzad, a resident of Jamrud, were handed over to the team comprising ANF officials for rehabilitation at Haq Ki Awaz Rehabilitation Centre.

District police officer Salim Abbas said the police were working to rehabilitate drug addicts besides taking action against drug peddlers. He said the campaign was aimed at enabling drug addicts to live a normal life and get rid of drug addiction.

The official said this would help their families get relief from the mental stress they were facing. Salim Abbas appreciated the efforts of ANF and social welfare organization Haq Ki Awaz in the fight against drug addiction.

He hoped that these efforts would help young people return to normal lives. The official called on civil society and community notables to help the police and the ANF in eliminating social ills from the society.
