5 suspected cultists and thieves arrested in Delta

Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested five suspected cult members and armed robbers.

City & Crime reports that the suspects were arrested in their hideouts by special operatives deployed by the Commissioner of Police, Olufemi Abaniwonda in Ughelli and a Special Anti-Cultism Unit (SACU) deployed to Nsukwa community in the local government area of Aniocha South of the State.

The command’s spokesperson, Bright Edafe, disclosed this to newsmen in Asaba. He said four suspects – Amaechi Ichiagu of Ozalla town in Nkanu West Local Government Area of ​​Enugu State, Akpomiemie Larry, Bright Ovie and Ese Ogodo – were arrested in Jesse communities, Ugbomaja and Okpe in Ethiopia West Local Government Area.

He also said investigations revealed that apart from their involvement in cult-related activities, they also indulged in armed robbery.

Edafe added that one Christian Bugwa of Nsukwa village in Aniocha, Aniocha South Local Government Area, was also arrested for alleged cult activities.

He said the suspect confessed to being a member of the Eiye Supreme Brotherhood.
