$8 million reward for information on Clan Del Golfo human trafficking leaders

In coordination with the Department of Justice’s existing Anti-Smuggling Rewards (ASR) Initiative, Secretary Blinken approved three reward offerings under the State Department’s Transnational Organized Crime Rewards Program (TOCRP) targeting the main leaders of the Clan del Golfo (CDG) involved in human trafficking in the Darién region between Colombia and Panama. The three reward offers are:

1) up to $2 million for information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of any key CDG executive involved in human trafficking in Darién;

2) up to $1 million for information leading to the disruption of CDG financial mechanisms to finance, support or support human smuggling operations in Darién; And

3) up to $5 million for information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of any key CDG executive involved in human trafficking in Darién by encouraging and enticing foreigners to enter the United States, resulting in death, in violation of Title 8, US Code, sections 1324(a)(1)(A)(iv) and 1324(a)(1)(B)(iv).

Today’s three reward offerings support efforts by law enforcement in Colombia, Panama and the United States to end the abusive treatment of migrants around the world who seek to pass through the Darién region.
