LANETT, Ala. (WRBL) — The Lanett Police Department (LPD) is currently investigating a series of armed robberies that occurred in the city of Lanett on May 12.

Authorities say four robberies took place in the city and all targeted members of Lanett’s Hispanic community. The suspects appear to be between 16 and 25 years old.

Police say the suspects were armed with various firearms at the time of the robberies and during one robbery, a red 2014 KIA Forte was stolen.

LPD says it executed a search and arrest warrant Friday for a juvenile connected to the case. Police say due to the use of a firearm during the robbery, the juvenile is being charged as an adult.

Investigators believe other suspects may be involved.
