West Earl Township police said the victim told them she was driving when Michael Ermold Jr., 57, grabbed her purse because he wanted beer money. and the two fought over the purse. Ermold allegedly hit her arm and face to make her let go. He stole money from the purse before fleeing, police said. He was arrested while trying to cross the central reservation of the highway. Ermold is charged with theft, theft, simple assault and harassment. Court records show he is booked into the Lancaster County Jail.
