North Carolina man accused of sending inappropriate images and videos to Lauderdale County child | News

A North Carolina man is facing several charges after deputies say he sent inappropriate images and videos to a child in Lauderdale County.

According to the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office, Dylan Smith was charged with 11 counts of transmitting obscene material to a child and one count of online solicitation of a child.

Deputies say a CyberTip was received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding the child exploitation of a victim in Lauderdale County on February 14.

An investigation determined that Smith, who resides in Wilson County, North Carolina, was the suspect.

The sheriff’s office said an interview with the child victim took place at Cramer Children’s Center and confirmed that Smith had sent them inappropriate images and videos.

Based on evidence collected during the investigation, arrest warrants were issued for Smith. Smith was booked into the Lauderdale County Detention Center.
