Kerala residents rejected cult of violence: governor

Governor Arif Mohammed Khan said the people of Kerala had rejected the cult of violence. Explaining the reason for his refusal to be part of the Loka Kerala Sabha, Mr. Khan on Tuesday said he was not invited to the previous three events of the Loka Kerala Sabha.

“It’s not the first time they’ve done this event,” he said. The governor said he wanted to congratulate the people of Kerala, especially those of Kannur, for rejecting the culture of violence and bombing.

“Even in Kollam district, they tried to attack me and in universities too, there was violence. A young boy from Wayanad lost his life and a judge was forced to commit suicide. Any form of violence is a negation of democracy and goes against the Constitution and the law. Do you want me to encourage them by going to their reception? I won’t,” Mr Khan said.
