A Rock County judge sentenced a Beloit man to prison for robbing a bank and attempting to rob a hotel.



JANESVILLE, Wis. (WKOW) — A Rock County judge sentenced a Beloit man to prison for robbing a bank and attempting to rob a hotel.

The Rock County prosecutor said David Gober, 62, hit the BMO Harris bank in Beloit at 5 p.m. on June 16, 2023. Hours later, around 10:15 p.m., the prosecutor said Gober tried to burglarize the Goodwin Hotel in Beloit.

Gober was convicted of theft from a financial institution and attempted armed robbery. He was sentenced to 12.5 years in prison, followed by 5.5 years of extended supervision.
