Nigerien police open investigation into cause of death of two Poly Bida students

Nigerien police have opened an investigation into the possible causes of the death of two students of the Federal Polytechnic of Bida, in Niger State, whose lifeless bodies were discovered on Sunday in their house in the Kobbo district of Bida, in Bida Local Government Area of ​​the State.

The students reportedly died of food poisoning.

Reacting to the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) SP Wasiu Abiodun said as soon as the Bida Police got information on the developments, the divisional DPO B de Bida led the police to the scene.

He revealed that when he arrived at the lodge, the bedroom door was forced open and the bodies were discovered lying dead on the living room floor.

He explained that the two young deceased persons Oladapo Yusuf Olaitan, 28 years of Osun State and an HND student Aisha Abubakar 22 years of Lagos Street Minna, both of Federal Poly, Bida.

According to him, “On June 8, 2024, at around 3:30 p.m., information was received that two lifeless bodies of a man and a woman from Federal Poly, Bida, were found dead in their dressing room at home ‘From’ Aliyu, Kobbo, Bida. “.

Abiodun further disclosed that food remains and tablets were discovered at the scene and taken for medical analysis.

However, he noted that no signs of struggle or any marks of violence were seen on the bodies of the deceased.

“Their dead bodies were taken to FMC Bida for autopsy. The incident remains under investigation. added the state police spokesperson.
