Group of teenagers steal sneakers from man on Blue Line train: CPD

Chicago police have released images of five teenage suspects wanted in connection with a robbery aboard a CTA Blue Line train last Saturday.

CHICAGO (WLS) — A teenager has been charged after a group of five suspects were sought in connection with a robbery aboard a CTA Blue Line train last Saturday.

The theft occurred around 1:40 p.m. as the train approached Racine Avenue, police said.

The suspects approached a passenger, displayed a handgun and demanded his property, police said.

The man refused and police said the suspects then kicked and beat the passenger and took off his sneakers.

The suspects were described by police as being between 16 and 18 years old.

On Tuesday morning, police said a 15-year-old boy was charged with one count of armed robbery and one count of aggravated battery of a public transit employee. –
