Alleged shoplifting and assault at Home Bargains in Barry

A video circulating on social media shows two girls standing at the entrance to Home Bargains on Palmerston Road arguing with a male and female staff member.

Suddenly, one of the girls pushes the employee and the employee intervenes.

He steps back but intervenes again when one of the girls pushes the other girl against the female employee, forcing the male employee to intervene again.

Some pushing and shoving ensues before one of the girls snatches the male staff member’s helmet and throws it at him before both girls leave.

South Wales Police confirmed they were investigating an incident at the store, saying: “We are continuing to investigate an incident of shoplifting and an assault at Home Bargains, Palmerston Road in Barry , around 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28.
