Man, 41, charged with 12 counts of sex offenses against children | GBC – Gibraltar News

A 41-year-old man has been charged with twelve counts of sexual offenses against children.

The Royal Gibraltar Police said Clayton Busto was charged following an investigation into allegations of repeated abuse against several complainants, all now adults.

GBC understands he previously worked as a teacher at a local school.

Clayton Busto was arrested in June last year by the Royal Gibraltar Police Safeguarding Team, following a report to police.

He was questioned and released on bail. He has now been charged.

Mr. Busto faces six charges of sexual activity with a child.

He is also charged with two counts of causing, encouraging or assisting in child exploitation or child sexual abuse material.

In addition, he faces four counts of abuse of a position of trust: two for encouraging a child to engage in sexual activity, one for causing a child to witness a sexual act and one for having sexual activity in the presence of a child.

He is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday morning.
