Shoplifter who drank alcohol jailed

A Douglas man has been jailed after three shoplifting offences.

Craig William Tiernan, 40, of Harris Promenade, stole Jack Daniels, Prosecco and Raspberry Sourz during a mini trip to Port Erin Shoprite and Ellan Vannin Fuels on Peel Road in Douglas in January.

The offenses put him in breach of a suspended sentence imposed last year for refusing to take a breathalyzer test, resisting arrest, speeding and not having a driver’s license or car tax.

Tiernan was jailed for three and a half months by Deputy Senior Bailiff Rachael Braidwood.
