Underworld was after Sunil Shetty in human trafficking operation, his mother-in-law showed courage

Bollywood actor Sunil Shetty gave an interview in which he shared that he was working to save girls from human trafficking. The actor saved around 400 girls through this campaign. He gave all the credit to his mother-in-law who taught him a lot of things through this campaign. Along with this, the actor also revealed that during that time, the underworld was on his tail and gave information about how he went about it. When Sunil Shetty was asked about human trafficking in an interview with ‘Zoom’, how he did all this, he said, “Now, Sunil Shetty is an actor, so everyone remembers his name. But for me, the hero behind this whole incident was my mother-in-law Vitla Kadri. Earlier, we used to run an NGO called Trafficking in India. But then we changed it because we had problems with the name. And other people were using that name. Now its name is Vitla Foundation.” My mother-in-law, in collaboration with many NGOs, took the bold decision to bring out more than 400 young girls from all over the world.

Sunil Shetty praises his mother-in-law

When asked how the operation went, Suniel Shetty said, “I have never spoken about it and I don’t want to speak about it. Because it can be dangerous. And there can be problems in future also. Because these are things that are done by a top-level confidential team, apart from the then Prime Minister and the then police commissioners. So I have never spoken about it. I am speaking about it now because I am not the hero, so I have to speak about it. I am a messenger. Many people helped me to deal with this. But the credit for finding this out and everything else and having the courage to do it goes to my mother-in-law.”

The underworld was after Sunil Shetty

Sunil Shetty said, “I have always worked with my mother-in-law. She saved children and we gave them a place to live. Even today, Mana and I continue to do this work with my siblings. I only talk about it when I feel like it. Not to promote a film. We derive satisfaction from this work. It was my mother-in-law who taught me that the art of giving is the art of living. She was more precious to me than the world. I will give her the same place as my mother. It is because of her that I got this opportunity. The underworld was also after us. But we succeeded because of good friends and the police. Jet Airways also helped us.”
