Two arrested in armed robbery at Core Credit

Statesboro police detectives arrested two men Monday after a two-week investigation into the Sept. 9 armed robbery at the Core Credit Union Market District office, Statesboro Public Safety Director Wendell Turner said. Lawrence Gerald Hulbert Jr., 27, University Pointe Apartments, and Torrey Terrel Scott, 32, Madison Meadows Apartments, are both being held in the Bulloch County Jail without bail on charges of armed robbery, he said. Statesboro police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Statesboro office worked in tandem to solve the two armed robberies that occurred in two days, he said.
