San Jose police arrested a man Tuesday on suspicion of murder in connection with a July 4 shooting.

The department’s undercover unit arrested Pierre Franco Plascencia, 40, of San Jose following an investigation by homicide detectives, authorities said in a statement Wednesday. Authorities did not elaborate on the specifics of the crime or how they identified Plascencia as a suspect.

The arrest came less than a week after a man and woman were shot while driving, causing their vehicle to crash into a home’s garage and catch fire, police said. The man was killed and the woman was injured.
