Suspect fired gun during armed home robbery

STURBRIDGE ― Police said they have arrested a man suspected of firing a gun during an armed robbery at a home Wednesday morning.

No one was injured in the shooting, which happened at a home on Cricket Drive around 9:45 a.m., Sturbridge police said in a statement.

After firing the shot, police said, the suspect fled into the woods, but was caught and arrested a short time later.

“Please be assured that all residents are safe,” the ministry said in a statement. “You can resume your normal activities.”

Police Chief Earl Dessert could not immediately be reached for further information.
