Rhonda Howdyshell, founder of The Cinderella Project, attended the Miss Virginia pageant and witnessed Swanson’s victory. Howdyshell is currently Miss Senior World VA 70s 2024. Reflecting on Swanson’s performance, Howdyshell said: I noticed her talent because not only did she play the piano beautifully, but she also sang.

In addition to her responsibilities as Miss Virginia, Swanson’s efforts are part of broader drug prevention initiatives in schools. For example, the West Virginia Department of Education has implemented comprehensive drug awareness programs through ReClaimWV and Project AWARE to combat the opioid epidemic.

These efforts are part of a multi-tiered support system that emphasizes early intervention and mental health awareness to provide a supportive environment for students affected by substance use.

Overall, Carlehr Swanson’s crowning achievement as a Miss Virginia 2024 and his attention to promotion drug addiction prevention across the state marks an important step in addressing these vital issues in our communities.
