Boston Police Arrest Armed Robbery Suspects, Recover Stolen Moped

BOSTON — Officers with the Boston Police Department’s D-4 District arrested two individuals, Alan Charles, 18, of Brockton, and a 17-year-old juvenile, for armed robbery late Monday night after a 911 call reported a person with a gun at 157 Massachusetts Ave.

The incident happened around 10:58 p.m. when officers responded to the Back Bay address.

The victim told police he was assaulted and his moped stolen by two men who demanded he start the vehicle.

During the confrontation, one of the suspects allegedly brandished a firearm, pointed it at the victim and struck him in the face with it, before both suspects fled on the stolen moped.

The victim, who was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries, provided descriptions of the suspects to police.

He was also able to locate his moped using a GPS device, which allowed officers to locate him behind a building on Beacon Street.

Officers canvassing the area apprehended Charles and the juvenile suspect on adjacent streets.

Charles is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on armed robbery with a firearm.

The juvenile will also be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on charges of armed robbery with a firearm.
