Man arrested in Riverland for child sex offences

Public Protection Branch detectives yesterday arrested a Riverland man for child sex offences.

The 34-year-old man has been charged with possession of child exploitation material.

He was released on bail and is due to appear in court in Berri at the end of August.

The arrest follows a referral to the Joint Child Exploitation Team (JACET), a joint initiative between the Australian Federal Police and South Australia Police.

Chief Inspector Naomi Oberscheidt of the Public Protection Branch said: “Police are urging anyone in the community who needs to access support in relation to child abuse or exploitation to visit the ACCCE website – – for a full list of available support services with contact details.
