Warwick man pleads guilty to buying firearms through middleman

United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island. (WLNE)

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A Warwick man has pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Providence to three counts of making false statements while purchasing a firearm, according to U.S. Attorney Zachary A. Cunha.

Keith Greene, 27, is accused of purchasing three firearms from a federally licensed dealer, claiming on forms that he was the actual buyer.

Greene then transferred the firearms to his employer, who is not allowed to possess them.

Greene purchased the firearms between January 30 and February 21, 2023, and during each purchase, Greene represented on ATF forms that he was the actual transferee/purchaser of the firearms.

Officers with the East Providence Police Department recovered the three firearms in the employer’s possession during an unrelated investigation in December 2023.

A document was also seized, signed by Greene and the employer acknowledging the transfer of one of the firearms.
