Waterbury man on probation for gun, drug possession

WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — A Waterbury man is on probation after being charged with gun and drug possession.

D’Metrius “Meech” Johnson, 29, has been in custody since November 21, 2022, when he was arrested by Brookfield police in connection with the theft of catalytic converters from cars. A search of his Waterbury home uncovered multiple firearms, ammunition, and large quantities of cocaine and MDMA (ecstasy).

This is not Johnson’s first run-in with the law. He served five years in prison starting in 2014 for involvement in drug trafficking.
