Suniel Shetty: The underworld was behind us during our rescue operation against human trafficking

In a exclusive interview with Zoom, Suniel Shetty He spoke about rescuing 400 girls from a human trafficking operation, his concerns over drug use, working on ‘Welcome To Jungle’ after questioning Sanjay Dutt about it, KL Rahul’s World Cup trophy win and much more. Here are the excerpts from the interview.

You helped save girls from human traffickingtell us about it!

You know, the thing is, because Suniel Shetty is an actor, everyone remembers that name. But for me, the heroine behind it all was my mother-in-law, Vitla Kadri. Earlier, we used to run an NGO called Trafficking in India, but we changed the name because we had issues with the name and other people were using it. Today, it is called Vitla Foundation. My mother-in-law and many NGOs came together and took this bold step to bring out more than 400 girl children from all over the world.

How did the rescue operation go?

I have never spoken about it and I don’t want to speak about it because it could have been harmful and it can be harmful in the future too. Because these are things that are done with the most confidential team, apart from the CM of the time and the police commissioners of the time. That is why I have never spoken about it. The only reason why I am telling you about it is because I know how to get myself put back on the right path and the only reason why I need to speak about it is also because I am not the hero of all this. I was a messenger and yes, I did what I did. After that, there were many people who helped me deal with it, but the credit goes to having dug this up and everything else and having the courage to do it, is my Masters in Law.
