7 arrests, 65 charges laid in child exploitation and human trafficking investigation, RCMP say

Manitoba RCMP will hold a news conference late Tuesday morning to provide details on an investigation that has resulted in dozens of charges against seven people.

The RCMP issued a news release Monday afternoon stating that the RCMP’s Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit has executed a number of warrants and laid numerous charges as part of an investigation into child exploitation and human trafficking.

Although the release did not remain where the arrests took place, a Portage la Prairie RCMP investigator will attend the news conference to answer questions, along with Portage la Prairie Mayor Sharilyn Knox.

The press conference will be held at Manitoba RCMP D Division Headquarters at 11 a.m.
