Everton have rejected Manchester United’s latest offer for Jarrad Branthwaite, saying they would not sell the England international for a low price.

On Monday night, United made a second offer of £45m plus £5m add-ons for the 21-year-old defender. That followed last month’s bid of £35m plus £10m add-ons and was again immediately rejected.

Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano wrote in a post on his X account on Tuesday morning: “Everton have already rejected Manchester United’s offer for Jarred Branthwaite on Monday night as soon as they received it.

“£45m plus £5m add-ons is seen as a far cry from the asking price as Everton see Branthwaite as Gvardiol and more top players.”

Everton have revealed that Branthwaite is worth close to £70million, with the centre-back’s exceptional performances in his first Premier League season driving their valuation.
