Two Vietnamese arrested in Pasay for gun threats


MANILA, Philippines — Two Vietnamese men were arrested Tuesday morning in Pasay City for allegedly threatening a bar patron using their illegally held firearm, according to the Southern Police District (SPD).

In a report, the SPD identified the foreigners by their aliases Van, 26, and Huang, 23. The two were apprehended along Roxas Boulevard in Barangay 76, Zone 10, around 3 a.m.

Based on the investigation, the police received a report from the complainant “Truong”, also Vietnamese, claiming that the two suspects threatened him by showing their guns while they were inside the bar.

The SPD said its agents from the Pasay station intelligence section and other personnel patrolling the area responded to the report and arrested the suspects.

They were confiscated a pistol loaded with three rounds of ammunition (without a license to own and hold firearms) and a small bag containing white methamphetamine or shabu, worth P10,200.

They are currently being held at the Pasay headquarters pending charges being filed against them.
