At the press conference for Indian 2 in Hyderabad, actor Siddharth said that “every actor is socially responsible enough” to do what is needed.

According to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, actors who seek permission to shoot films outdoors or want to hike ticket prices during releases should create videos to create awareness about drug addiction and cybercrime. On the other hand, Siddharth firmly believes that actors are inherently socially responsible and such mandates are unnecessary. “No CM told us…”

During the promotion of Shankar’s film Indian 2 in Hyderabad, a journalist asked if the actors were “socially responsible”, citing the example of the Telangana production head who asked for videos in exchange for help during the shooting or release of the film. While the question was posed to all the actors present, Siddharth responded by telling Kamal Haasan and Rakul Preet Singh that they did not need it.

He said, “My name is Siddharth. Telugus have seen me working for the last 20 years. I cooperated with the government between 2005 and 2011, held a condom in my hand and promoted safe sex on billboards in a united Andhra Pradesh. It was my responsibility, not because a CM asked me to. Similarly, every actor is socially responsible; we do things according to our conscience. Whichever CM asks us to do something, we will do it. No CM has told us; only if you do this, we will do something else.”
